First morning of a two days major storm. And it’s not even winter yet! On the 16th December – officially we still have a few days until the beginning of the winter – we had a severe “winter” storm leaving 40 cm of snow here in Montreal. Up to 60 cm in some parts of Québec.

Flights cancelled, ice-covered highways, 70-90 km/h gusting winds, 400 collisions due to severe weather conditions and one person killed hit by a snowplow as reported by the Ontario Provincial Police. A presage of a long winter to come…

Illuminated by Christmas lights at McGill College ave., the Secret Bench stands indifferent to the weather. Work of the artist Lea Vivot, the Secret Bench can be seen in many places throughout the world like Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto; New York and London. Each bench is inscribed by famous poets and writers from around the world.
